The operation of the Drum/Box/Container Dumper begins with floor level loading of the container onto a platform. A hydraulic cylinder raises the platform, pressing the container rim against a discharge cone to form a dust tight seal. Once sealed, a separate hydraulic cylinder tips the entire platform and hood assembly to a preset angle – typically 45°, 60°, or 90° -using a motion dampening feature for smooth and controlled movement. With TIP-TITE® models, when the discharge cone is properly seated against the receiving equipment, a slide gate valve opens to allow dust-free discharge of materials. When dust-free dumping is not required, all dumper models can be equipped with open-chutes without valves

Container Platform

To initiate the discharge process, the container platform is hydraulically elevated until the rim of the container contacts the underside of the discharge cone. This alignment forms a secure, dust-tight seal that prevents spillage and contamination. Once the seal is established, the platform tilts to a controlled angle of 45, 60, or 90 degrees, enabling complete material discharge into the receiving vessel.

Discharge Cone

The TIP-TITE® discharge cone creates a secure, dust-tight connection between the container and the receiving vessel, preventing the escape of dust during material transfer. The container rim seals against the discharge cone, which mates with a gasketted inlet port on the receiving vessel, forming a fully sealed system that keeps airborne particulates contained and the work environment cleaner and safer.

Dedicated Tilting Hydraulics

Dedicated hydraulic tilting cylinder or cylinders are employed to tip the platform-hood assembly and container. This provides precise control over the tipping angle and includes a motion-dampening feature to ensure smooth operation. The tilting cylinder design enhances reliability and performance, especially under constant use in plant environments.

Slide Gate Valve

With TIP-TITE models, a slide gate valve positioned at the end of the discharge cone pneumatically or manually controls the flow of materials from the container. Once the discharge cone is properly seated against the receiving vessel, the valve is opened to allow material transfer. This mechanism ensures dust-free discharge and provides operators with control over the material flow, contributing to a safer and more efficient handling process.
